maplestory-classic.com is an independent fan site for MapleStory Classic World, Nexon's recreation of the pre-Big Bang MapleStory inside the Global MapleStory client. It is not affiliated with Nexon, NEXON America or Wizet, and it is paid for by display ads from Google AdSense and by optional reader tips. It has no affiliate links and no sponsored posts.

What we publish

  • News: what Nexon announced, when it takes effect and what it changes, with the Nexon source linked every time.
  • Guides: long-form, step-by-step pieces on classes, training, bosses, quests and systems, each ending with a "Last verified" line and a Sources footer.
  • The database: pages for every monster, map, quest and class at launch, built from structured data and explained in our own words.

Where the facts come from

In-game numbers (monster stats, drops, spawns, quest requirements, skill data) come from the structured data tables of mapleclassic.wiki, licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, and are re-synced daily. Dates, prices, packages and policy come from Nexon's own posts. We never copy the wiki's prose; we use its facts and link to it.

Who runs the site

Tomer Prescotty runs and edits maplestory-classic.com and reviews the news and guides published here. Corrections, questions and requests go to hello@maplestory-classic.com.

How articles are written

Every article carries the editorial team's byline and the name of the editor who reviewed it. Articles are drafted with AI assistance, working only from Nexon's own posts and the synced game data. Before anything is published it is checked against those sources: every number in a guide has to appear in the fact sheet it was written from, banned claims (such as describing held-back content as available) are rejected, and every article links its sources.

We publish news only when Nexon or the game data actually changes something, and we keep guides current: when the data behind a guide changes, the guide is re-checked and its "updated" date moves. Anything found wrong is corrected in place. If you spot an error, tell us.

What is original here

  • Tools: the EXP, mesos, scroll and stat calculators and the boss respawn timer, built for Classic World's numbers.
  • Free Market prices: median sale prices, price ranges and trends for the items that actually trade, updated as new data comes in.
  • Training spots and drop tables: monsters ranked by EXP per HP for each level band, and where each item drops, worked out from the game data.
  • Server status: Nexon's maintenance notices, read every ten minutes and sorted by whether they affect Classic World.

What we will not do

  • Describe held-back content (third job, Orbis, El Nath, anything post-Big Bang) as if it were available.
  • Promote private servers, real-money trading, exploits or dupes.
  • Quote or name individual community members from Reddit or Discord.
  • Publish sponsored posts or affiliate links, or let an advertiser influence what we write.
